There are cycle routes, bridleways, the Ouse Valley Way long distance footpath - and shorter footpaths for less ambitious walkers.
Cycling is easy here – it’s a level country – and it is a great way to get around. National Cycle Route 51 runs through the Valley.
Motor boats, rowing boats, punts and canoes can be hired. Tours on the Electric boat from St Ives are always popular. To experience the area fully, a boat trip is essential – you experience a completely different view or dimension of the landscape.
The guided bus way from St Ives into Cambridge gives superb views of the lakes and wetlands. There is a stops at Fen Drayton Lakes.
There are railway stations at St Neots, Huntingdon and Ely.
For rest and refreshment, there are plenty of pubs, cafes and small hotels waiting to welcome you. There are also attractive parks for camping and touring caravans.
